CUSTOMER SERVICE REPRESENTATIVE

As an immigrant, finding stable employment in Canada wasn’t an easy journey for me. I spent almost 17 months unemployed, applying to countless jobs without hearing back from any of the employers. It felt discouraging, and I began to lose hope in the job search process. However, everything changed when I discovered WorkBC and the resources they offered.

I read about them online and how they assisted people like me with resumes, cover letters, and job search strategies. That’s when I decided to reach out. The staff at WorkBC Centre Whalley provided me with incredible career guidance that helped me improve my job search skills. They worked with me to create effective resumes and cover letters and helped me sharpen my networking strategies. Their support made a huge difference, and I felt more confident in my ability to find a suitable job. Their quality of work is commendable!

Thanks to their support, I’m now employed full-time as a customer service staff member with a crown corporation. The experience with WorkBC has been amazing. I was introduced to a variety of useful employment services and resources that I wouldn’t have known about otherwise. My case manager played an essential role in my journey by guiding me through every opportunity, ensuring I had the right tools to succeed. Meanwhile, my employer liaison helped me understand the job search basics and kept me motivated throughout the process. I’m grateful for all the support I received during this time.

Today for me, success is the outcome of situations I have been through, whether favorable or unfavorable. Being with every situation or moment is a success.

I owe a great deal of my success to the wonderful team at WorkBC Centre Whalley. Special thanks to my case manager, employer liaison, and facilitator. Their help lifted my morale and confidence in presenting myself and promoting my skills to potential employers. Without their encouragement and support, I wouldn’t have been able to secure this position. What a great team!
